- Can you introduce the hotel?

The Mercure of Troyes is a 4-star hotel located near the city centre. It has 73 rooms, 4 seminar areas and a bar and a terrace open to the outside public.

- Can you tell us about your renovation project?

This renovation project was carried out by the architecture agency ABP Architectes. The hotel is a historic building much appreciated by the Trojans: the Poron manufacture, which is the symbol of the development of the Trojan economy. The project was imagined in relation to its past of old spinning. The theme of spinning and weaving loom is the common thread of the architectural concept from the lobby to the rooms. The design of the spaces is guided by a soft, cottony and enveloping atmosphere. The outdoor courtyard has also been reconfigured to transform it into a living and exchange space.

- What place does design have in the history of the Mercure Hotel?

The AccorHotels group now claims for its Mercure brand, a «local» design with the diversity of its location.
In search of an experience that should be memorable, franchised hoteliers will be able to imagine bespoke rooms and common areas.

- What were your inspirations for this project?

This building was historically the Poron manufacture, specializing in hosiery. The central bar reinterprets the figure of the loom and irrigates all the hotel spaces, from the lobby to the seminar rooms by declining the cotton theme. Thus the layout plays with shades and textures beige, cream and pastelle.

- What do you think about NV GALLERY?

NV GALLERY offers very nice products, a lot of variety in the lines of these furniture. The ranges of fabrics are expanding and this leaves room for variants of furniture very nice.

- What is your favorite piece at NV GALLERY?

Observing the project, and knowing that this room was put in each room of the hotel, I would say without hesitation: the GIULIA armchair. Its round and enveloping design declined in ecru curl has completely integrated into the cotton imaginary of the old converted yarn.
