Table lamp, glazed ceramic, solid ash & ecru linen, H45.5

The EIRA table lamp plays on the principle of superimposing volumes and materials. Its glazed ceramic base, with bevelled edges, is encircled at the centre by an insert of solid ash stained walnut. The warmth of the wood adorns the base like a piece of jewellery and creates a subtle contrast with the deep, autumnal brown hue of the enamel, whose lustre catches the light. At the top, the ecru linen lampshade echoes this interplay of layering: an octagonal shape is superimposed upon a round form, creating a two-tiered effect. An antique brass rod connects the two elements, marking the junction with a metallic sheen.
